Web 3.0 An Upgrade To The Internet

The web can be characterized as having stages and un-announced to the average individual we are swiftly engaging major technological changes to the internet.

 

The internet is expanding in a sense. For years we have heard about drones, robots, self-driving cars, and virtual reality. We are at a point where the technology behind the scene is smarter, more interconnected, and built a more advanced interent.

 

Looking back the different stages of the internet, you can slowly see the subtle changes.

 

Web 1.0

Web 1.0 was the beginning of the interent spanning from 1991 until 2003. The internet was more about paritcipants as consumers and sharing information. It can be classified as mostly read-only.

 

Web 1.0:

- Static pages

- Static server file system

- HTML, Tables, and Frames to align page elements

- Created by developers to share information

 

Web 2.0

In 2003 a quick evolution happended, at least in my generation. I'm sure most 90's babies remeber Tom From Myspace. Myspace marked the beginning of the social and interactive evolution of the internet.

 

Before myspace ,the web was mostly just information. Myspace added the ability to connect with friends, share pictures, and communicate with others online.

 

During this, the Web 2.0 internet payment systems established themselves as well. New more interactive site like Ebay.com, Amazon.com, and Google rose to prominence.

 

In a sense, it was the birth of eCommerce. Users could now order itmes and recieve them in the mail. Mobile apps became populare allowing the ability to find out anything and order anyting your want from any where in world.

 

The additions to the interent made it possible for the user to actually become the creator. Theses phenomena leade to Pinterest, Tiwtter, Facebook, and Instagram dominating the web and people's mobile phones.

 

Developers can now moentize users and the data they provide. Creators eventually find a way to monetize their creations and followers.

Web3

The new upgrade to the internet known as Web3 or Web3.0 is creating a "sharing economy" some refer to it as "the world's information". In this paradigm, information is sahred on the metadata level. This allows the world to work more cooperatively and create more dfficient systems.

 

The internet of things is commonly referred to as "IoT". WHat is the IoT? Basically, everythings we use in the world currently but, they will have the ability to communicate and share data with each other.

 

Decentralized data coupled with artifical intelligence will alllow for things to learn patterns and behaviors, essentially, making them smart. The world would semmingly adapt to the individual giving a personal feel through everyday interactions.

 

The sharing of data leads to another mojor tehcnological breakthrough that is blockchain and cryptocurrency. This is major shift that can truly have a global effect on economies and communties of all sizes.

 

Blockchain creates an immutabel and transparent turst layer that even the scales of life. Blockchain established an un-hackable and universal vertifable distributed eldger to anyone who wnat to see it.

 

Cryptocurrency is powered with the blockchain data structure under the hood. Cryptocurrency allows for the decentralization of data and in most cases, power.

 

Users can take ownership of their data in =-turn increasing their privacy. Cryptocurrency thoretically igves users the otption to plug into a system, allowing the systme to use their data. The user benefits from the stored value in the cyprtocurrency.
